Hi, I’m Cheryl—the heart behind Sweet Southern Child Co.

I’ve always been a creator at my core. After over 30 years as a hair designer, I realized something about myself—I feel most at peace when I’m creating. Whether it’s baking, designing, writing, or building something from nothing, that’s where I come alive.

Sweet Southern Child Co. was born from that passion. What started in my kitchen with recipes and ideas quickly turned into something much bigger—a way to share homemade goodness, creativity, and a love for small business with others. I’m not just a baker…I’m a maker, an artist, and an entrepreneur who believes in doing things with heart.

Faith, family, and country are the foundation of everything I do. I’m proud to call Tennessee home, where I’ve built not only this business but a life centered around hard work, creativity, and community. I’ve also been blessed with a wonderful family, including my granddaughter who inspires me every day to keep building something meaningful.

One of the things closest to my heart is helping others succeed—that’s why I created the Makers & Bakers Market. I know what it feels like to have a dream and need a place to start. This market is about giving people that opportunity…to step out, be seen, and grow.

To me, this business isn’t just about selling products—it’s about creating something that brings people together, supports local dreams, and reminds us that the best things in life are made with love.
